A global aerospace leader is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to serve as a technical architect and team lead within our Simulation Engineering division. In this role, you’ll drive high-fidelity avionics simulations supporting training systems for elite military pilots. These systems power immersive training environments that leverage real-time data, advanced graphics, and complex mission logic.

This is your chance to work hands-on with a powerful suite of simulation tools used in mission-critical environments — from desktop development testbeds to full-scale cockpit trainers.

🚀 What You’ll Do

• Lead system design, coding standards, peer reviews, and technical architecture for advanced simulation platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, users, and senior leadership to translate evolving training needs into scalable solutions.
• Develop and test simulation software in both Windows and Linux environments, integrating with immersive visual platforms like CRVS.
• Guide software strategy while mentoring junior engineers and championing best practices across the development lifecycle.

🧠 What You Bring

• 14+ years of professional experience developing with C/C++ in real-time or embedded systems
• Expertise working in Windows and Red Hat/Linux environments
• Hands-on experience with Git, Bitbucket, Visual Studio, and other leading development tools
• U.S. Citizenship (required to support export control and clearance requirements)
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (Interim required to start)

⭐ Bonus Points For

• Familiarity with Ada, Fortran, Python, OpenGL, Qt, or GNAT Pro
• Experience with Agile planning tools like VersionOne/Agility
• Knowledge of aircraft subsystems (e.g., weapons, flight controls, night vision systems)
• Understanding of cloud platforms, container orchestration, and networking protocols
• Prior leadership in simulation architecture, real-time systems, or mission planning software
