Summary of the Role :

Using medical knowledge and pharmaceutical experience to assist the medical team in continuously developing patient care practices and policies for optimal patient experience and operational flow.

Key Responsibilities :  

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and state and federal laws observed. 
  • Determine the consumption restrictions and/or purchase limitations, if any, prior to order verification. If rules and/or constraints are identified, appropriate action is taken.  
  • Consult with and advise patients and caregivers about medical marijuana products, consumption methods, and accessories required for its use.
  • Advise patients and caregivers about potential contraindications, side effects, and possible drug interactions with other prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, or herbal supplements.
  • Provide product and dose recommendations, suggest practical consumption methods, and inform of best practices for optimal patient results.
  • Update patient certifications in the state electronic tracking system.
  • Communicate and contribute to patient satisfaction and positive patient experiences. 
  • Stay informed about the latest developments and clinical research into the effects of medical marijuana.
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends in product formulations, consumption methods and accessories for use.
  • Craft informational blogs aimed to educate audiences about the various benefits of medical marijuana. 
  • Active participation in community outreach and educational events. 
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the company’s internal repository of research and development findings for the use of medical marijuana. 
  • Apply medical and/or pharmaceutical expertise to assist the Medical Director in achieving team goals in relation to the company’s growth. 
  • May assist in retail dispensary tasks.
  • Represent the company professionally and respectfully to patients, caregivers, community residents, and fellow healthcare professionals.
 

Qualifications :  

  • A valid Pharmacist, Certified Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, Certified license
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the medical field.
  • Experience in the marijuana industry preferred, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively, work independently, and efficiently manage time.
  • Demonstrate empathy and a genuine commitment to serving a diverse customer base with care and respect.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technology.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work up to 10 hours a day and rotating shifts.  
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout an on-site workday.  
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.  
  • Extended computer usage ability. 
  • Comfortable being under constant video surveillance.
  • Effective communication skills in a group and remote working environment.
  • Able to develop and mentor staff to a high level of execution in all areas of the operation.
