Must Haves:

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year experience within the last 2 years as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant RN
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN License
• PALS Certification
• Lactation Consultant Certification
• 2 letters of recommendation written within the last 2 years attesting to your clinical skills
• 1 must be from a physician or NP who has personally observed and evaluated
• 1 can be from a clinic of hospital administrator, physician or nurse with personal knowledge of your patient care skills

Day-to-Day:

Insight Global is in search of a Registered Nurse in the Portsmouth, VA area to support a government client on a long term contract. The ideal candidate would be responsible for ensuring patient care aligns with the Standards of Nursing Care and adheres to clinic policies and procedures. This role is a specialized Lactation Consultant. In this role, you will perform a full range of duties according to assignment under the task order. This includes triage, patient assessment, monitoring, and appropriate nursing care. You’ll execute physicians’ orders, document patient care, and provide emotional support. Additionally, you’ll assess patients, maintain a safe environment, and address learning needs. Clinical guidance, documentation, medication administration, and effective communication are key aspects of this role. You’ll also participate in orientation, cross-training, and competency assessments, while actively promoting breastfeeding and implementing care guidelines.
