Job Description

Hiring: Live-out Housekeeper / Laundress

Location: Austin, Texas based, semi regular travel 

Compensation: $80,000-$150,000 DOE / full benefits / PTO 

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm, flexibility to stay late and provide extra weekend time as needed

Overview: A growing family of three who is relocating to Austin, Texas this Summer is seeking the services of an Executive Housekeeper to attend to the daily upkeep of their home. This role involves deep to light cleaning, laundry including working with delicate fabrics and special needs garments, tailoring, maintaining an atmosphere cleanliness, peace, and detail oriented care of a 8,000+ Square Foot home. Though not mandatory, the ideal candidate will have a background in high end resort style service, such as housekeeping within a 5 star hotel or similar. Must be thoughtful, detail oriented, polished, and adaptable. This is a year-round position, in a formal fully staffed home. Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning: Deep clean on a scheduled and as needed basis to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home, attend to daily upkeep as needed for all surfaces, finishes, and fabrics within the home
  • Laundry and Wardrobe: Manage and maintain order within the laundry area, effectively and carefully attending to casual and formal wear with appropriate attention paid to each linen and garment, ironing clothing, maintain order within closet storage systems
  • Sewing and Tailoring: Repair damaged garments and tailor garments of various styles and fabrics, including the families wardrobe and staff uniforms (preferred, though not mandatory)
  • Communication: Effectively communicate on status of various tasks as needed, respond to last minute requests with grace, and report to Estate Manager on any areas, supplies or the like that you may be needing support with
  • Caregiving: Maintain a helpful, positive, and connective relationship with the families young child to support a cohesive sense of care within the home, prepare coffee for the household, assist the chef as needed with light food prep such as preparing or plating snacks
  • Professionalism: Arrive each day ready to be of service, focused solely on the goal of providing a positive and harmonious experience to the family as a whole. Conduct yourself with care and respect to your teammates, remembering that everyone is here to help one another, and to meet the families needs. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience working as a housekeeper for at least 3 years
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities, patience and capacity to manage multiple schedules and needs
  • Background: Experience in a 5 star hotel or white glove service environment (highly preferred, though not mandatory)
  • Flexibility: Must be highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to changing schedules and responsibilities, including travel
  • Travel Ready: Willingness to travel with the family as needed for vacations, events, or other personal trips as needed
  • Documents: Valid drivers license and passport, or the ability to get them 
  • Background: Provide at least 3 references, and pass a background check

Priority will be given to candidates currently based in Austin, Texas.
