Job Summary

Bombshell Sportswear is seeking a highly creative, talented and passionate Designer to join our dynamic team. Bombshell Sportswear designs, produces and sells activewear apparel and cocktail dresses produced in Los Angeles and sold exclusively online, direct to consumers.

You will demonstrate expertise and knowledge of activewear apparel design concepts, practice and procedures. This is an opportunity for a pivotal role helping to expand product categories at a growing company. We need someone who delivers premium work, has a "whatever it takes'' attitude and partners with internal teams to create incredible products. You must be without an ego and eager to collaborate wherever asked to contribute to the organization's success.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design new products in categories of activewear, cocktail dresses or potential expanding categories which represent the brand from concept through completion 
  • Responsible for product design process, including market research, competitive shopping, conceptual presentations, design and guidance through fabric, trim, and fit
  • Analyze past sales success and conceptualize updates to existing styles
  • Present designs using CADS and collection linesheets, and maintain real time updates
  • Prepare information for pattern maker, including front and back Illustrator sketches, initial critical measurements, construction guidance, fabrication info, trim sheets
  • Initiate Tech Pak and maintain Bill of Materials 
  • Collaborate researching and sourcing fabric and trims
  • Involved in developing color selections and approving lab dips 
  • Contribute design and fit feedback during fit sessions
  • Review development fit samples to ensure design intent, workmanship, quality, correct components, construction and aesthetic were executed as requested 
  • Collaborate with technical, pre-production, planning, pattern makers and sample sewers 
  • Responsible for approving bulk fabric for color and quality
  • Create PO’s to contractors and suppliers related to new style development 
  • Must be able to manage time and adhere to timelines and deadlines
  • Communicate linesheet updates and product changes to all business partners (CEO, COO, Development, Planning, Pre-Production, Production)
  • Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities and supporting an agile team

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 6 years experience as a designer, ideally in activewear and/or cocktail dresses. Experience in swim or intimates is a plus
  • Deep love of fitness, fashion industry and on top of the trends
  • Expert knowledge with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator 
  • Illustrator sketch experience is a must
  • Extensive knowledge of knitwear and compression fabrics
  • Expert knowledge of garment construction
  • Working knowledge of specs, patterns and fitting
  • Advanced knowledge of Google sheets

The annual base salary range for this full-time, in office position in the US is $80,000 - $125,000. The range may vary based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education. The compensation information listed in job postings only includes the base salary.
