Cassia is hiring an experienced  Full-Time Events Manager to join our Philanthropy team! Our nonprofit organization provides senior housing, health care, and community-based services to older generations and others in need. The Events Manager job is a highly collaborative position that is responsible for overseeing and growing a culture of philanthropy and charitable revenue through events and sponsors. As Cassia continues to grow, the Events Manager will be responsible for managing existing golf tournaments while strategically exploring opportunities for new fundraising events.

This is a  Full-Time , benefit eligible position with a  Hybrid  schedule working   a minimum of 3 days a week at the office in Edina, MN.

Events Manager Responsibilities:
Events
  • Provides vision and strategy for events and sponsor cultivation, exercising significant discretion related to all areas of fundraising events.
  • Collaborates with campus administrators, directors, & leaders to understand funding needs appropriate for event support and to establish, grow and empower event committees to leverage support in local communities
  • Manages workflow of tasks for all events and when necessary, delegates to event committee members to ensure successful implementation
  • Responsible for event budget decisions including hiring contract employees and choosing event venues, MC, entertainment, auctioneer, ensuring healthy NET & return on investment, etc.
  • Feeds major gift and planned giving programs through creating prospect pipelines from events to individual donor cultivation of major gifts and planned giving
  • Manages event planning committee meetings to ensure members are actively engaged
  • With marketing team support, oversees & coordinates production of all event print materials and oversees internal/external event communications (save-the-dates, signage, brochures, invites, email blasts, blogs, social media, etc.)
  • Tracks and reports event RSVP lists and manages communications with event registrants and attendees.
  • Shares impact of event fundraising through donor newsletters, social media, etc.
Sponsors
  • Collaborates with the finance office, campuses and other departments to evaluate current business partners for sponsorship opportunities
  • Annually reviews spend and other factors to guide targeted sponsorship packages and requests
  • Builds sponsorship package opportunities
  • Conducts in person meetings for some major sponsors to effectively cultivate, solicit and steward corporate donors as needed
  • Ensures event committees prospect, cultivate, solicit and follow-up with sponsors at the local level
  • Routinely evaluates and reports progress toward goals
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP of Philanthropy
Events Manager Skills and Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in event and sponsor fundraising preferred
  • Able to legally drive a motor vehicle
  • Competence in written and oral communications; confident phone presence
  • High degree of accuracy when reporting facts and figures; detail oriented
  • Ability to problem solve and think on his/her feet
  • Comfortable cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors and sponsors
  • Energetic with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and complete within deadlines
  • An ability to empathize with donors and clearly communicate our organization’s mission
  • Capable of sharing a genuine passion for charitable giving to energize team members and persuade prospects
  • High ethical standards as it relates to all work, including the donor bill of rights
  • Able to maintain an organized schedule of work load
  • Maintains professional appearance and approach
  • Able to maintain confidential information
